So, my flight to Phoenix was uneventful.  I even got a boarding pass ahead of time, so I didn't have to sit in the boarding lounge and chew on my stomach lining wondering if I was going or not.  Thanks to the wonder of texting, Dan was able to find me standing on the curb at Phoenix airport.  It's always nice to see a familiar vehicle approaching when you're in a strange city.

Because it was already dark by the time I got there, we stayed overnight in Phoenix.  Well Goodyear, actually, at the (bad) Quality Inn.  We did a shopping trip and headed to Puerto Peñasco in the late morning on Tuesday.  I don't know what this plant is, but it was all over Phoenix.  Nicely pruned bushes covered in purple flowers.  If it grows there, it'll grow in Mexico, so I'm on a mission to find out what it is.  Any ideas?

The cotton fields around Buckeye, AZ.

I'd never seen a cotton plant close up.

My favourite signpost.  It's always nice when the country that you're aiming for makes an appearance on the road signs.

One of the U.S. border control stops.  Of course they aren't checking us when we're headed South.

Arriving in Puerto Peñasco.  This is Blvd. Benito Juarez, the main street in town.

Same street, but closer to home.

Follow the sign to Las Conchas (The fancy neighbourhood past ours) and turn left on to Blvd. Fremont.

Only a couple of blocks to home.

Of course our little gang of street dogs was waiting
outside the house for us.

The one that is not-so-affectionately known as "Stupid Brown Dog" joined the pack late last year and he's still hanging around.  I know, you're thinking that sounds mean, but if you knew him, you'd understand.

Project #1 when I arrived was to buy a new washing machine.  The old one is kaput!  There's now an extra challenge to doing the laundry.  The controls (and instructions) are in Spanish.  No problema - we've got it sussed.

Another project was hanging curtains in the upstairs bedroom.

Then a little down-time in the evening.
(No dogs on the furniture isn't a hard & fast rule in Mexico)

Do you mind if I print, frame and hang the picture of the pack? It made me laugh so hard that, if I had been drinking my coffee, I would now be cleaning it up from my computer screen.

They are a pretty funny-looking bunch. Print a copy for me too, 'kay?
